For ten weeks, he criticised and chastised her in front of the nation, describing her dancing as “a disaster”.  But Ann Widdecombe has finally got her revenge.  The 63-year-old former politician has been partnered with Craig Revel Horwood for the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour, which strarts tonight.  For the next month the self proclaimed “dancing elephant”, will share the floor with the exacting Strictly judge.  But his grimace as he lifted her during rehearsals suggested he would rather be back behind the judges’ bench.  As the pair battled through the practice moves, it seemed that Miss Widdecombe had learned little from the show from her time with Anton du Beke – or just wanted to make things as uncomfortable as possible for her nemesis. 

An insider saisaid “Craig has the same pained expression that Anton had for much of the series.  It’s great fun but, if anything, she has got worse since the television show ended”.  Revel Horwood was Miss Widdecombes’ harshest critic on the programme, famously only giving her one mark out of ten for her salsa routine and leaving her with the lowest score in Strictly Come Dancing history – just 12 out of 40.  But she refused to let it get her down, saying ” I know that I’m not the best dancer in the competition, but I know that my doing it has made other people realise that they can”.
